Net revenue retention

Net revenue retention (NRR) answers: of the MRR you had at the start of a month, how much do you still have from those same customers? It counts their upgrades, downgrades and cancellations, and leaves out new and returning customers. NRR = (starting MRR + expansion − contraction − churn) ÷ starting MRR Find it as a tab on the Overview chart and in the churn history table.

Cohorts

Insights → Cohorts groups customers by the month they started paying. Each row is one cohort; each column is a month since they started.
The cohort grid, with the view switches and a hovered cell numbered 1 and 2
  1. What to show: Customers retained, the share still paying, or Net MRR retained, their MRR now against their first month. Choose 12 months or 24 months of history.
  2. A cell: hover to see the cohort, the month, how many customers still pay, and their MRR.
The color scale runs from low retention to 100% and above. In Net MRR retained, above 100% means a cohort’s upgrades outweigh its churn. The Average row at the bottom weights each cohort by its size. Outlined cells are the current month, still filling in. Cohorts follow the filters at the top, so you can compare retention by source, plan or any breakdown.
