# Compare with platforms

> Why OneMRR's MRR differs from what Stripe, Shopify or Wix shows, with every dollar explained.

OneMRR's MRR rarely matches a billing platform's own number to the cent, because each counts some things differently. **Workspace → Compare with platforms** explains the whole gap: each reason, how much it accounts for, and the customers and invoices behind it.

## Read the summary

Pick a platform at the top. The summary shows OneMRR's MRR, the platform's own MRR (read live, or the dashboard figure you enter), and the difference, followed by a sentence on the main reason.

![Compare with platforms, with the two totals and the difference outlined](https://mintcdn.com/one-mrr/r0eSCeyIYQOzU0L6/images/compare/summary.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=r0eSCeyIYQOzU0L6\&q=85\&s=a6b3af2c5a40d41fae8c101efa79a9a3)

To compare against the exact number on your Stripe Billing dashboard, enter it under **Stripe Billing dashboard**. OneMRR then shows how much of the gap is something Stripe's API doesn't expose.

## From one number to the other

**From OneMRR to Stripe Billing** walks from OneMRR's total to the platform's in steps. Each step is one reason with its amount and the number of subscriptions involved. Steps are marked as a **different rule** (both are right, they just count differently), **timing** (one side hasn't caught up yet) or **rounding**.

Common reasons:

| Reason | What's happening |
| - | - |
| **Set to cancel** | OneMRR keeps a subscription in MRR until the period the customer paid for ends; Stripe drops it as soon as the cancellation is scheduled |
| **Unpaid or paused** | The platform stopped counting it; OneMRR follows its last paid invoice |
| **Price or seat change not billed yet** | The new price shows in the platform before the next invoice charges it |
| **Paid through a separate invoice** | The customer paid with a one-off invoice rather than the subscription's own |
| **Changed since OneMRR's last update** | Something changed after the last sync; it catches up within 10 minutes |
| **Products OneMRR doesn't count** | Products you've excluded from MRR on Connections |
| **Discounts, metered usage, exchange rate** | Counted differently on each side |

Below the steps, OneMRR notes what both sides count the same way: past-due subscriptions, trials, and refunds and credit notes, which change neither side's MRR and show on [Collections](https://docs.onemrr.dev/analytics/collections.md).

## The customers behind each reason

**Customers with a difference** lists every customer whose MRR differs, largest difference first, with the reason. Filter by reason or search. Open a customer to see the invoices and events behind their difference.
