# Forecast

> Where MRR is heading if recent trends hold.

**Insights → Forecast** projects MRR a few months ahead from your recent new business, churn, upgrades and downgrades.

![The Forecast page with the projected MRR and its controls outlined](https://mintcdn.com/one-mrr/q05aXT_0moaoPNhC/images/analytics/forecast.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=q05aXT_0moaoPNhC\&q=85\&s=d63a4eff39c50dd30711e09f6eabf0b3)

* **Horizon**: 1 to 6 months ahead. Three is the default.
* **MRR / ARR**: what to project.
* **Trend from**: base the forecast on the last 3, 6 or 12 months.

The chart shows actual MRR, the projection, and a shaded range of likely outcomes. The further ahead you look, the wider the range, so treat long horizons as a rough guide.

Further down the page:

* **How we calculated this forecast** walks from today's MRR to the projection, one driver at a time.
* **Forecast assumptions** lists each driver: new and returning MRR, monthly-plan churn, upgrades net of downgrades, and annual plans.
* **By source** projects each platform on its own.
* **Historical forecast accuracy** shows how past forecasts compared with what happened: the typical miss, which way they leaned, and how often the result landed inside the range.
